MG Astray Red Frame Kai review

First, i'm really don't know why it call as "kai" but i just realize "kai" is something means upgrade but whatever is it, it doesn't have the flightpack, normal Gat-x series shield and the Astray Beam rifle. If anyone of you think that the articulation will definitely better since the NG 1/100 version already have great articulation, there is a price to pay for that. Alright, should start it with some introduction instead of complain.

The origin of this MS was from Orb, one of the five prototype unit. Pilot by the Lowe Guele, appear in the side story of Seed. I actually read some information from MAHQ and i just learn that Astray doesn't have phase shift technology? and as a highly develop country, it need to copy the technology from the alliance for the beam rifle and beam saber? Alright, this sound quite ridiculous but it might be true. The original weapon for it was a one beam rifle, 2 x beam saber, Gatx shield and vulcans but due energy limitation, this unit also equip with "katana" which called as Gerbera Straight. I don't have much information about this MS as i didn't follow its manga story and only few short clip anime showing this unit. I do saw some of it manga story appear in the Dengeki hobby magazines but its seems the story is quite boring (no big scale battle and lots of talking).

As for the kit, I'm really don't understand why Bandai slot in the tactical arms which can transform into a "bow" while there are many other better options such as only offer the MG kit with its basic weapon, then the MG flightpack version comes later. Similar to the PG version that this MG version will get two gerbera straight Katana but no beam rifle, beam saber and shield. There are lot of spare parts which come from the MG astray blue frame second L but those part are insufficient to transform it into second L and a lot of spare part left after the completion. So, lets check the box art and the runners.

MG OO Raiser Review

Damn, i started to get use to what adult collectors are doing, piling up the back log and took few months to complete one own custom gunpla project. It almost 4 month after i customize my own MG Destiny and till now i don't even have any clue what to start. Getting in for the November competition and try to have some fun over there, I think this is not going to happen this year. So, lets focus on this review kit now.

What we have here is a MG OO raiser, man we have waited this long time and finally i get my hands on it but unfortunately its not mine and i still going to build the best out of it. It was part of my "ex-boss" project and this is the sixth MG gunpla that i build for him. There is another MG OO seven sword, MG Astray Red Frame Kai and MG Force Impulse, after that it will be the time for me to build my own project ( its great to enjoy this addiction without paying a single cent while i can save some money for the future project). I forgot when was this release but if i'm not remember wrong it released last year and few month later, the seven sword version came out too. The MG version was released later than the PG version and that was the time for RG take place in the market, i guess the designer sure headache about this which want it maintain the "not overly done" look, better and worth more than a normal RG while it won't exceed what we have from the PG, quite tough isn't it.  

Alright, some brief introduction of this MS. It was from the Double O gundam series season 2 which airing around 2008 and first appearance was on 2007 ending of the Double O gundam season 1 (only the upper torso and the head unit were show). I though this is it, the best gundam in the Double O series, nothing can be better than this but the ending of the series was, quite disappointed for me as such brilliant design MS will end up with it "soul" being separate back to its predecessor and the worse part is, although it did appear back in the " the Trailblazer" movie but it got destroy by some sort of alien call ELS and the OO Qanta was replacing it? I don't care, this is the best gundam in the Double O series no matter from which season or movie series of it. Instead of those "quantum brain wave power" or what ever special power of the pilot, the only thing make sense to me is machine is a machine, machine will not bring superpower (that is why i hate this MS sometime when it use the so called "burst" more where everyone get naked and able to talk to each other through again, "quantum brain wave"). I do admire that it is a MS that using twin drive system which sound like a twin cam engine that able to double up it power, with the O raiser attach on it will make it even more stronger (and of course it look better) but operating it seems a bit complicated since it need two pilot where the pilot of the O raiser need to support to maintain the stability of this twin drive system. Another thing that i like most about this MS is the weapon system. When the GN Sword 1 from the Exia, it was amazing, it feels like the old WWII Rifle with a knife in front of it. It can use as a melee weapon or it can shoot the enemy from the far side, as for this.... large sword that going to slice the pity Enact apart from Mr. Patric and transform into a small GN Beam Pistol to shoot the rest. And when it come to this MS, it carry 2 GN sword 2 instead of one, can be combine to become like a lance on what we have on the MG Infinite Justice, while it can become a high frequency "heat sword" it can also become beam swords and like it predecessor, it can transform into a rifle which something that can shoot the enemy down. The GN Sword 3 will be another nasty version of it as the sword is as large as the GN Sword 1 while it can create a very large beam sword that might even bigger than the bean from the Gundam Seed Meteor unit. Just the hand carry primary weapon is not impress you enough because the wing binder which is have a small cannon beneath it and also can become a shield like the Forbiden gundam, it also can generate a biggers beam "sword" that can slash down a "fotress". Two GN Beam saber at the back, that is the flying knife for Setsuna to cure his throwing weapon addiction on the battlefield. Enough for the MS and lets see what it have inside this kit.

Optimus Prime : Fall of Cybertron

After so many years....... i mean being a transformers fans when i was kid and now, finally able to own Transformers' toys in my collection.

Well, forget about my story and lets focus on this. I'm not sure should this post call as review or what ever i should call it but maybe i will just call it as my thought about this "Optimus Prime" rather call it a review because I don't have much knowledge about Transformers' Toys. And if anyone think of owning Transformers' Toys, i think the first character will always be the badass Optimus prime in any Transformers' series even though they are the so called loser in their war but i think the idea from the creator for this character is portraying hope from the good side.

So, this will be the Optimus Prime from the Fall of Cybertron (a.k.a FOC... lol) series which is a game, some called it as the Cybertronion series or Transformers Generation series which i'm not sure how to differentiate. I think this should be the series follow from another gaming series called the War of Cybertron ( I bought the deluxe class Optimus prime from this series and its... will tell more on the coming Transformers' post). I haven't play that game yet so i don't have much information about this Optimus FOC. As far as i know, there are lot of weapons and equipment can be change in the game such as the arms, hand or what ever it call can transform into many different kind of canon, rifle, machine gun or blade. I'm really wish that Hasbro might release some series which will have swap-able parts for different type of weapon as show in the game ( i think those collector won't mind to pay extra as long there is more variation out there). 

On the toy itself, there are few things that i'm really impressed such as the articulation, proportion, transformation and some minor detail. I mean the entire design not too complicated but it have great proportion while still able to maintain great articulation and transformation gimmick. Some of the joints is even better than the gunpla. As for the color separation, detail and....... nub marks? I was wondering toys do have nub marks too? Well, these will not be favorable for collectors. About the design accuracy compare to the actual look in the game, i will rate it in 75% max as the front wheels should store at the back of the body and not in the arms and the transformable hand to different type of weapons is another reason why i rate it so low. The rest of the comparison, i guess the picture below should be sufficient to explain more. 

New section coming soon (Transformers and Hotwheels thought)

Well, i guess Transfomers toys and Hotwheels should be every kid dream to own as much as they can ( Power Rangers toys too, those Megazords). Unfortunately, those who are rich can get a lot and those who are not, few or nothing. As for me, i can only get it if i score in my exam and which will never happen, LOL!!! At the end of the day, the dream can only become real from what i earn now.

Forget about the stupid story of mine, let just focus on what i thought about this topic. First, I will start with transformers toys. First of all, although I'm a fan of Optimus prime but I do not have much knowledge for Transformers series or toys. My first transformers toys is a bootleg made in China, never get a original one until i reach secondary school. My cousin give me an old Optimus prime from "i don't know which series" and a lion transformers which i believe it called the "star leo" which can combine with another "jet type" transformers. I never bother about it until i learn that the value of old transformers toys will increase few more times that its original price when it release. I guess the only reason that explain why is due to only few batches will release for one series and the production will stop for that series after that, i was totally regret for not keeping them in good condition and not to lost any accessory of it. At the end, i sold both of it at RM 150 while if its in good condition can sell up to few thousand ringgit. 

NG 1/100 Akatsuki Review

I remember the first post for the Seven6398 was using NG 1/100 Akatsuki, I can't believe the first post about model kit in this Seven6398 ver.2 will be NG 1/100 Akatsuki. 

Although it's not pilot by main character or being the main character mobile suit but this still caught many attention from the audience i guess. It's the only gold plated kit in the Gundam Seed Destiny series even in gunpla. At the end of the day, the unit was pilot a man who also wear his mask during the combat really reminding Mr. Quattro as believe to be Char in its Hyaku shiki which also a gold plated mobile suit in Gundam Zeta series. The first appearance of this mobile suit was quite "deep", as it is the sword for the savior to protect Orb from burning again. Even a song that have the similar name with this mobile suit was played. The role created for this mobile suit and its pilot was quite great in my opinion. 

Back to the mobile suit itself, maybe i should let the information collected in Mahq explain it all:

Before his death in C.E. 71, Orb Union leader Uzumi Nara Athha commissions the construction of the ORB-01 Akatsuki to serve as the final defense of Orb, should the need arise. Developed in secret, the Akatsuki is hidden underneath the Orb mainland until C.E. 74. The Akatsuki's design is similar to the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam that Orb assisted the Earth Alliance in developing. Aside from visual similarities, the Akatsuki is capable of using several packs similar to the Strike Gundam's Striker packs. Perhaps the most unique feature of the Akatsuki is its "Yata-no-Kagami" anti-beam defensive reflection system, which is coated on the armor. Comprised of many tiny mirrors, the armor coating the Akatsuki allows it to reflect any beam energy fired at it. The armaments of the Akatsuki's main body include a pair of vulcan guns, a twin beam saber, a beam rifle and shield. When equipped with the "Owashi" sky pack, the Akatsuki can also use a pair of high-energy beam cannons. In addition, the "Owashi" pack can separate and function as a separate fighter. In space, the Akatsuki can equip the "Shiranui" pack, which is armed with a guided mobile beam turret system similar to ZAFT's DRAGOON (Disconnected Rapid Armament Group Overlook Operation Network) system. In addition to functioning as beam cannons, the units can be used to create a defensive shield. The Akatsuki is first used in by Cagalli Yula Athha to defend Orb from a ZAFT attack during Operation Fury. During the battle, the Akatsuki engages Shinn Asuka's ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam and receives minor damage. Soon after, the battleship Archangel heads to space, and Cagalli gives the Akatsuki to ace pilot Neo Roanoke (aka Mu La Flaga). In a battle between ZAFT and the Orb space fleet, Neo and Athrun Zala destroy the Requiem cannon that ZAFT captures from the Alliance. Soon after, the death of PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal and the destruction of the mobile space fortress Messiah mark the end of the war.

I think that explanation should be sufficient for this mobile suit. Personally, with its weapon system it can said that it might unbeatable or even as strong as Strike Freedom (which is my favorite mobile suit in Gundam Seed Destiny). A unit that have beam reflector to protect it from any beam attack and even a guided mobile beam turret system which can use to create a large "prism" as a energy shield, it can be said one of the safest mobile suit in the war if the pilot worry about getting shot by others.

Seven6398 ver.2 Intro

Alright, cut off the crap. Basically this is the continuation of Seven6398.blogspot.com. I've been thinking of this long time ago but i don't actually have any plan about it until the my older picasa album overload (which use for Seven6398.blogspot.com). Well, forget about the reason (alternative to solve the problem in the older seven6398.blogspot.com), lets just focus here. 

The previous seven6398.blogspot.com had been changing from time to time, lack of concept and a little bit messy. First of all, I'm not a programmer or have any knowledge about designing a website (if i do i won't be using blogspot), so can't expect Seven6398 ver.2 will have any fancy stuff here. The only concept that i have for this version is only one 3 words "keep it simple" or it also can be said as "keep it clean". Everything will link to this concept (unless there it become ver.3 or something). 

Although it is ver.2 but most of the information such as link to my own previous work or review will remain the same from the page column. Some of the random post might not accessible anymore as well as some WIPs. The major one still remain. Rather than making many different WIP for a single kit, this time it will have all WIP in one post but the complete kit in another post. Therefore, frequent rate for posting will be lesser. Become a news portal for toys or gunpla, nope. The function and... the only function of this blog or ver.2 will remain the same, " I POST WHATEVER I WANT" (but still focus about what i collect mostly). "That's all for the briefing sailors, prepare the sail for our new journey and head to... er (unknown destination)"
